President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday, congratulated the new President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, who was elected President by a Federal Supreme Council to succeed his half-brother, the late Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed.<\/p>\n
Buhari\u2019s congratulatory message was contained in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, titled \u2018President Buhari congratulates new UAE leader, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, says Nigeria looks forward to even better relations.\u2019<\/p>\n
In congratulating the new leader upon his emergence, Buhari, on Saturday said, \u201cI know that stepping into the shoes of the late Sheikh, Khalifa Bin Zayed, is no easy task because of his vast experience and visionary skills, but I\u2019m confident that his successor is equally well equipped for the task ahead.<\/p>\n
\u201cYour predecessor made a mark in the impressive transformation of the UAE, making it a vast business and tourist attraction, building infrastructure, and creating one of the best living standards in the world. I\u2019m confident that you\u2019re going to build on this great legacy created by your half-brother.\u201d<\/p>\n
The President also said that \u201cNigeria looks forward to greater cooperation with the UAE which has tremendously helped Nigeria in tracking down illegal assets and tracing terrorist funds,\u201d adding, \u201cDubai is a reliable partner for the progress of Nigeria and I\u2019m confident that under the new leader, such cooperation will grow bigger and stronger.<\/p>\n
