Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi Odundun IV, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, has called Deborah Samuel’s murder an unIslamic act.<\/p>\n

Oba Olabomi, who denounced Miss Samuel’s execution, also termed the demonstrations and mayhem unleashed on Sokoto town, as worrisome and uncalled for, as well as the devastation sustained by businesses and innocent inhabitants.<\/p>\n

The monarch announced this in a statement issued by his Press Officer, Abdulkareem Opeyemi Mubarak.<\/p>\n

While asking everyone to exhibit patience, keep calm, and maintain peaceful coexistence among people of various religions, the monarch orders law enforcement to investigate the cause of her death and apprehend those responsible.<\/p>\n

In his words, \u201cEven as many Nigerians, including Islamic scholars and groups condemn the dastardly act of jungle justice, it is unfortunate that some mindless bigots have the temerity to defend the criminal act<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI call on law enforcement agencies to fish out other collaborators and bring all of them to justice. I also appeal to the Nigerian youths to shun all acts of criminality under the guise of religion. All the perpetrators of Deborah\u2019s murder must be made to face the law of the land.<\/p>\n

\u201cKilling of fellow human being unlawfully has no place in Islam. This issue must be treated as a very heinous criminal act and the law of the land must take its cause.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deborah Samuel, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, was accused of blasphemy and burnt to death by a mob of extremists on Thursday, May 12, 2022.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, May 21, 2022, a mob<\/a> also embarked on a violent protest in order to forcefully secure the release of two of the alleged perpetrators of the heinous crime who are under police custody.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
