Tragedy struck again in Anambra state on Sunday as residents of some communities became the latest victims of the perennial bloodletting going on in the state.<\/p>\n
No fewer than seven persons were killed in various communities across the state by gunmen.<\/p>\n
Isulo and Nanka, Orumba North Local Government Area, as well as Abatete in Idemili North LGA are said to have been invaded by the gunmen.<\/p>\n
It was gathered that four siblings and their mother were killed in the attack at Isulo.<\/p>\n
Two persons were killed at Abatete while another person was killed at Nanka Orumba North LGA.<\/p>\n
Eyewitnesses said the gunmen stormed those areas and opened fire on the victims and left.<\/p>\n
The state police spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga, said the details of the incidents were still sketchy.<\/p>\n
Ikenga added that the command would issue a statement on the incidents on Monday when they must have gotten a clear picture of what transpired.<\/p>\n
However, one of the senior police officers who spoke in confidence confirmed the Isulo incident.<\/p>\n
He said that the woman and her children did not look like people from Igboland.<\/p>\n
But he failed to confirm the other two locations, saying, \u201cI have not received the signals of those ones.\u201d<\/p>\n
