{"id":190000,"date":"2022-05-23T06:36:46","date_gmt":"2022-05-23T05:36:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=190000"},"modified":"2022-05-23T06:36:46","modified_gmt":"2022-05-23T05:36:46","slug":"dangotes-son-in-law-jamils-baby-mama-files-legal-custody-for-son-over-stance-on-late-deborahs-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/05\/23\/dangotes-son-in-law-jamils-baby-mama-files-legal-custody-for-son-over-stance-on-late-deborahs-murder\/","title":{"rendered":"Dangote\u2019s son-in-law, Jamil\u2019s baby mama files legal custody for son over stance on late Deborah\u2019s murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Irene Chiamaka Nwachukwu, the babymama of pilot and Aliko Dangote\u2019s son-in-law, Jamil Abubakar, who is the son of the former Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar, has filed for sole legal custody of their son because of his \u201cextreme religious views\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/05\/14\/deborahs-murder-aliko-dangotes-son-in-law-defends-killing-of-blasphemers\/amp\/\">WITHIN NIGERIA<\/a>\u00a0had reported a week ago that Abubakar had openly endorsed extra judicial killings following the gruesome murder of Deborah Samuel, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education for allegedly blaspheming Prophet Mohammed in their school\u2019s group chat.<\/p>\n<p>Abubakar had taken to Twitter to defend her death saying that the Holy Quran pronounces death on anyone who blasphemes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>In Islam, we respect the Injil, Taura, Zabur, we were never taught to disrespect any of the book, or any of the prophets from Adam to Muhammad SAW and the Quran. The punishment for blasphemy is death In most religions including Christianity. Respect people\u2019s religion, it\u2019s simple<\/strong>,\u201d he said in the tweet.<\/p>\n<p>His baby mama, Irene, who obviously found his statement embarrassing has now filed a lawsuit for full custody of their son.<\/p>\n<p>Irene disclosed that she\u2019s disturbed and seriously concerned about leaving her child in the care of someone with such extreme mindset.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, she wouldn\u2019t be seeking child support or needing his assistance with parenting such as attending Parents Teachers Association meetings, deciding the house he lives in or the school he attends, as well as other things.<\/p>\n<p>The full statement of her legal filings through her counsel to Jamil\u2019s counsel reads, \u201c<strong>With your client Mr Jamil MD Abubakar\u2019s recent tweeting on social media dated 12th May 2022, I have come to the decision that my child will not be going anywhere near him, now or in the future, as I do not want my child to be raised by or be in the custody of someone with such extreme religious views, in order not to confuse the poor boy\u2019s thoughts or cloud his sense of reasoning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cMy child attends a school with pupils, from various backgrounds and beliefs, it will therefore be dangerous to expose him to such teachings. I\u2019ve been the only responsible parent and my child has been in my custody since birth, so it\u2019ll be best he stops contending custody with me in court at this time.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThis is also to note that I will not be asking for or accepting any child support, or needing his assistance with parenting such as attending Parents Teachers Association meetings, picking a school or having a say on what school he attends, or the house the child lives in as was stated in the countersuits filed against me where he claimed paternity to the child who I\u2019ve been solely responsible for in the last five years.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI hereby withdraw any motion that has been filed by my previous lawyer (who I disengaged in March 2022) in the past to that effect, as this might be your client\u2019s reason for being entitled to my son\u2019s custody.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cForgive me if I expressed the desire to co-parent with him, where he asked to play the fatherly role, I am now realising that this will never happen as the child\u2019s custody he\u2019s asking for shares Christian blood, and I\u2019m very disturbed and seriously concerned about leaving my child in the care of someone with such mindset and ideology about religion.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI had thought that the man I met in my teenage years was liberal in his thoughts and views, but obviously I was too naive to see beyond that and as a mother, it is my duty to ensure the mental and psychological safety of my child.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cYour client Mr MD Abubakar will do well to drop the lawsuit he filed on 25th January, 2022, against me in the court of appeal and let the high court (who dismissed his case against me) grant my request for sole custody, as I do not need a dime from him to cater for my child now or in the future.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cHe hasn\u2019t been in my son\u2019s life and I wish this continues to be so.
