{"id":190419,"date":"2022-05-24T17:40:51","date_gmt":"2022-05-24T16:40:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=190419"},"modified":"2022-05-24T17:40:51","modified_gmt":"2022-05-24T16:40:51","slug":"court-remands-59-year-old-for-allegedly-defiling-minor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/05\/24\/court-remands-59-year-old-for-allegedly-defiling-minor\/","title":{"rendered":"Court remands 59-year-old for allegedly defiling minor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A magistrate court has ordered the detention of  one AbdulGaniu Mohammed for the alleged sexual assault of a minor.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammed, a 59-year- old farmer, was reported to the police by one AbdulGafar Mohammed that the defendant allegedly defiled his younger sister<\/p>\n<p>The defendant allegedly inserted his finger into the victim\u2019s private part, claiming he wanted to know the cause of her bed-wetting.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant allegedly took undue advantage of the victim and cunningly had carnal knowledge of her without her consent.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor, Zacchaeus Folorunsho, informed the court that the case was not ordinarily bailable.<\/p>\n<p>He further argued that granting the defendant bail would hamper the course of justice.<\/p>\n<p>Trial <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/05\/16\/arsonists-burn-down-lg-secretariat-magistrate-court-in-anambra\/\">Magistrate<\/a> Muhammad Dansuki, who presided over the matter, ordered the remand of the defendant in the Correctional facility while the matter was adjourned till the 6th of June,2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A magistrate court has ordered the detention of one AbdulGaniu Mohammed for the alleged sexual assault of a minor.
