{"id":190660,"date":"2022-05-25T17:18:54","date_gmt":"2022-05-25T16:18:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=190660"},"modified":"2022-05-25T17:18:54","modified_gmt":"2022-05-25T16:18:54","slug":"man-remanded-for-allegedly-raping-married-woman-in-ibadan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/05\/25\/man-remanded-for-allegedly-raping-married-woman-in-ibadan\/","title":{"rendered":"Man remanded for allegedly raping married woman in Ibadan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 41-year old man, Mosunmola Azeez, has been detained at Agodi Correctional facility for allegedly raping a married woman.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Munirat Giwa-Babalola of Iyaganku Magistrates&#8217; Court sitting in Ibadan, ordered his detention on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant, whose address was not given, is being tried on one-count of rape.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/05\/16\/gunmen-attack-idemili-north-local-government-secretariat-and-magistrate-court-set-buildings-on-fire\/\">Magistrate<\/a>, Giwa-Babalola, did not take the plea of the accused persons for lack of jurisdiction and consequently ordered his remand at the Agodi Correctional facility.<\/p>\n<p>She, thereafter, adjourned the matter until August 1 for mention.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector Olufemi Omilana, told the court that the defendant on April 30, at about 2:00pm allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of a 30-year old woman.<\/p>\n<p>Omilana told the court that the man allegedly raped his victim at Budo Iseyin camp, via Saki town.<\/p>\n<p>He said the offence contravened Section 357 and punishable under Section 358 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 41-year old man, Mosunmola Azeez, has been detained at Agodi Correctional facility for allegedly raping a married woman.
