Senator Aisha Dahiru Ahmed Binani has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Adamawa State.<\/p>\n

She defeated former chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu,<\/a> and immediate past governor, Muhammadu Jibrilla Bindow, in the heavyweight contest.<\/p>\n

The election committee chairman, Malam Gambo, announced the result in Yola, the state capital.<\/p>\n

According to Gambo, Binani garnered 430 votes, the highest in the election.<\/p>\n

Ribadu came second with 288 votes while Bindow came third with 103 votes<\/p>\n

Abdurrazaq Namda polled 94 votes while Wafari Theman got 39 votes.<\/p>\n

Umar Mustapha Madawaki and Wafarniyi Theman respectively clinched fifth and sixth position in the contest.<\/p>\n

Binani, the senator representing Adamawa Central zone had previously served as member House of Representatives for Yola North\/Yola South\/Girei Federal Constituency.<\/p>\n
