Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi State and a presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, APC, has explained why former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, is not on his campaign team.<\/p>\n

There were rumors that Fani-Kayode, who had declared his support for Yahaya Bello on multiple occasions, had abandoned him in his lofty ambition.<\/p>\n

According to reports, the former minister and former chieftain of the main opposition political party has withdrawn his support for Bello, believing that the next President should come from the South.<\/p>\n

However, in an interview with Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Bello stated that Fani-Kayode was never part of his campaign structure and that the former Minister still believes in him as the APC’s sole<\/a> presidential candidate.<\/p>\n

\u201cFani-Kayode is not part of my campaign structure. He\u2019s a friend of mine. He\u2019s an associate and acquaintance. He\u2019s somebody that respects me so highly and I respect him so highly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been dealing, we have been relating. As I speak to you, yesterday he was with me, today we\u2019ll be together again.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s always been with me and supports my political surgeon and is still with me till tomorrow. He is a friend and has never been in my campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
