{"id":196778,"date":"2022-06-17T05:51:46","date_gmt":"2022-06-17T04:51:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=196778"},"modified":"2022-06-17T05:51:46","modified_gmt":"2022-06-17T04:51:46","slug":"ipob-names-alleged-kidnappers-in-south-east","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/17\/ipob-names-alleged-kidnappers-in-south-east\/","title":{"rendered":"IPOB names alleged kidnappers in South-East"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has released a list of alleged kidnappers terrorising the South-East, stating that it had never been part of or behind the ongoing insecurity and criminalities in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The Pro Biafra group, which dissociated itself from the criminals, warned them to desist from using its name to commit crimes in the South-East.<\/p>\n<p>IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday said IPOB formed and inaugurated ESN to checkmate terrorist activities in the region and would never get involved in evil acts such as kidnapping for ransom.<\/p>\n<p>Powerful said the group is working towards exposing to the public those behind the ongoing criminalities in Anambra, Enugu, and Imo states.<\/p>\n<p>It said, \u201cThose behind these devilish activities are neither <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/15\/terrorists-planning-deadly-attacks-on-south-east-churches-markets-ipob\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IPOB<\/a> nor ESN members as always unfortunately alleged, and we cannot allow them to succeed in our land.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Abia State particularly, a certain Nkechi Kalu and her gang of about eight kidnap gangs operating between Abia State and Igweocha, Rivers State are not IPOB members, they and their activities should not be associated with \u2018IPOB family\u2019 membership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Enugu State, a certain group of criminal elements turned themselves into enemies of the people, the names of their gang leaders are as follows; Chocho and Mazi Ejiofor; [they] are not IPOB members and anybody associating with them is a confirmed criminal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe above-named persons who were formerly IPOB members were expelled as a result of indiscipline and insubordination which is not tolerated by IPOB leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The group said the people behind the killings and kidnappings in the region are not members of IPOB and do not represent its cherished values.<\/p>\n<p>The group claimed that some of the names listed were masterminds of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/06\/native-doctors-flee-as-security-agents-bust-nine-anambra-shrines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kidnappings<\/a> in and around Nnewi North LGA, Nnewi South, Ekwulobia Aguata and other places in Anambra State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Anambra State, our painstaking investigation revealed the kidnapping syndicates gang leaders as Mazi Chijioke Aloy Emechie (pastor), Uchenna Nnadi, Nwamamiwater, Michael and Mark Okpulor. These men are also not members of IPOB and do not represent the cherished values of the Indigenous People of Biafra.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is evidently certain that the above-mentioned persons were masterminds of kidnappings in and around Nnewi North LGA, Nnewi South, Ekwulobia Aguata and other places in Anambra State, anybody that comes across them should treat them as criminal that they are.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe above-mentioned people who recently joined IPOB came with very dubious and criminal intents.
