{"id":197542,"date":"2022-06-20T14:44:38","date_gmt":"2022-06-20T13:44:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=197542"},"modified":"2022-06-20T14:44:38","modified_gmt":"2022-06-20T13:44:38","slug":"sanwo-olu-new-falomo-towers-will-catalyse-lagos-economic-renaissance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/20\/sanwo-olu-new-falomo-towers-will-catalyse-lagos-economic-renaissance\/","title":{"rendered":"Sanwo-Olu: New Falomo Towers will catalyse Lagos&#8217; economic renaissance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has stated that the new Falomo towers will be a highly sought-after destination when completed.<\/p>\n<p>This was stated over the weekend by the governor<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> during the launching ceremony for the commencement of the new Falomo Towers in Ikoyi, Lagos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Tony Elumelu, chairman of Heirs Holdings and other real estate stakeholders, attended the ceremomy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The project is being developed by Joint Venture partners, Afriland Properties Plc, the investee company of the Heirs Holdings Group and the Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In a statement issued by the government, Sanwo-Olu said when the project is completed, it will become a highly sought-after destination for work, life and play, thereby accelerating the state\u2019s economic growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">He commended the vision of the JV partners towards redeveloping the Lagos landmark and its commitment to Nigeria\u2019s real estate sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">He also applauded the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/09\/fg-to-penalise-oil-companies-violating-regulations-on-human-capacity-development\/\">companies<\/a> in charge of the project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThe JV is delivering an environment that offers contemporary work and living spaces that will further catalyse Lagos\u2019 economic renaissance,\u201d the governor said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cI am delighted that Afriland Properties, one of the country\u2019s leading institutional real estate investors, is able to partner with Lagos State to deliver excellence.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">On his part, Elumelu said the project is a demonstration of the governor\u2019s commitment to private sector growth in Lagos state and the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">He said the private sector plays a significant role in transforming Nigeria\u2019s economy, adding that there is a need for meaningful partnerships, which would unleash the potential of the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cWe believe that the growth of our economy, will be delivered by the private sector, but for the private sector to do well, our public sector leaders must create the right environment,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThe partnership we are celebrating today is a model, not just for Nigeria, but for Africa. I salute all those who have contributed to this exciting venture, not least His Excellency, whose vision we are delivering.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Uzo Oshogwe, managing director and chief executive officer, Afriland Properties, said through the project, job opportunities, growth and economic sustainability are guaranteed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThis mixed-use development will drive sustainability, creativity, and innovation.
