{"id":197583,"date":"2022-06-20T18:11:12","date_gmt":"2022-06-20T17:11:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=197583"},"modified":"2022-06-20T18:11:12","modified_gmt":"2022-06-20T17:11:12","slug":"apapa-port-rail-track-ready-in-two-weeks-says-gbemisola-saraki","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/20\/apapa-port-rail-track-ready-in-two-weeks-says-gbemisola-saraki\/","title":{"rendered":"Apapa port rail track ready in two weeks, says Gbemisola Saraki"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Senator Gbemisola Saraki, the Minister of State for Transportation has guaranteed Nigerians that the rail track that led to the Apapa Port Terminals would be completed in two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>This was made known on Monday by Saraki\u00a0during an inspection of the ongoing rail construction at the Apapa port while leading some officials of the Federal Ministry of Transportation to the port terminals through the Mobolaji Bank Anthony Rail Station in Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>She said the Project Manager, China Civil Engineering Construction Company, Mr. Xia Lijun, had given her the assurance that the laid track would be completed in two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The minister said, \u201cAs you can see, the building belonging to the Nigeria <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/18\/court-stops-fg-from-taking-further-actions-on-disputed-e-customs-concession-project\/\">Customs<\/a> Service Scanner Centre needs to be pulled down but there have been issues surrounding it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been able to see the situation and upon my return to Abuja, the ministry will meet with the Management of NCS and the Nigerian Ports Authority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore the end of next week, the solution to improve the construction at the Apapa rail track will be provided and the rail will be operational in two weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Noting the need for the demolition of the Customs scanner centre, Saraki stressed the importance of ensuring that the demolition was done safely without destroying the customs equipment, adding that after the demolition of the centre, the ministry would come back for inspection to ensure that the scanners were relocated to a safer place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Senator Gbemisola Saraki, the Minister of State for Transportation has guaranteed Nigerians that the rail track that led to the Apapa Port Terminals would be completed in two weeks.
