{"id":198193,"date":"2022-06-22T19:15:13","date_gmt":"2022-06-22T18:15:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=198193"},"modified":"2022-06-22T19:15:13","modified_gmt":"2022-06-22T18:15:13","slug":"dg-nysc-trust-fundll-only-benefit-skilled-corps-members","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/22\/dg-nysc-trust-fundll-only-benefit-skilled-corps-members\/","title":{"rendered":"DG: NYSC Trust Fund&#8217;ll only benefit skilled corps members"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brigadier General Muhammad Fadah, the Director-General of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) on Wednesday,\u00a0declared that the NYSC Trust Fund, which has just been passed into law by the National Assembly, would be of immense benefit to skilled corps members.<\/p>\n<p>Fadah disclosed that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/10\/nysc-to-release-2022-batch-b-call-up-letters-on-sunday\/\">NYSC<\/a> Trust Fund Establishment Bill was passed into law by the National Assembly on Tuesday and awaiting the presidential approval.<\/p>\n<p>This was stated by DG\u00a0during his visit to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ikare-Akoko, headquarters of Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State.<\/p>\n<p>According to the NYSC boss, it is imperative for corps members to be equipped with the necessary skills in order to benefit from the trust fund by the time it will take off.<\/p>\n<p>He said \u201cIn the 1970s and early 1980s, the federal, state, and local governments will look for you to come and work for them. Now, that era is over. That is why the scheme established the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurial Development programmes for you. Please take advantage of this situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGet a skill, you may not know when that skill will be useful to you. Please avail yourself. Just go and train yourself in a skill. The NYSC Trust Fund was passed yesterday (Tuesday) by the National Assembly. It is just left for the President to assent to it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen it becomes law, at the end of your service year, every one of you will have a token that you can use to establish your business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In her remarks, the state NYSC Coordinator, Victoria Ani, who welcomed the DG, disclosed that a total number of 1,311 corps members comprising 330 males and 978 females were registered in the camp.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wish to assure you that our activities in camp are not compromised.
