{"id":199936,"date":"2022-06-29T15:43:49","date_gmt":"2022-06-29T14:43:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=199936"},"modified":"2022-06-29T15:43:49","modified_gmt":"2022-06-29T14:43:49","slug":"2023-presidency-lawyers-sue-inec-agf-others-want-atiku-tinubu-obi-disqualified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/29\/2023-presidency-lawyers-sue-inec-agf-others-want-atiku-tinubu-obi-disqualified\/","title":{"rendered":"2023 presidency: Lawyers sue INEC, AGF, others , want Atiku, Tinubu, Obi disqualified"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three Abuja-based lawyers have instituted a legal action against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). <\/p>\n<p>The lawyers file a suit before a Federal High Court in Abuja. <\/p>\n<p>They prayed the court to issue an order stopping the electoral body from accepting the nomination of Bola Tinubu, Alhaji <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/29\/2023-atiku-insulted-wike-gov-ortom\/\">Atiku Abubakar<\/a> and Peter Obi, as presidential candidates in the 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n<p>The lawyers, amongst other things, predicated their suit on the illegality of the process that produced Tinubu, Atiku and Obi as candidate of their political parties.<\/p>\n<p>Plaintiffs in the suit marked: FHC\/ABJ\/CS\/1004\/2022 are Ataguba Aboje, Oghenovo Otemu and Ahmed Yusuf.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from INEC other defendants in the suit instituted on June 29 are; the Attorney General of the Federation ( AGF), All Progressives Congress ( APC), People\u2019s Democratic Party ( PDP) and Labour Party (LP) as 1st to 5th respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Details soon\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three Abuja-based lawyers have instituted a legal action against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
