Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lead counsel for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has stated that the Federal Government is not prepared to prosecute his client.<\/p>\n

According to Ejiofor, the Federal Government is using a variety of techniques to hold Kanu in custody indefinitely.<\/p>\n

He based his assertion on the fact that since the IPOB leader was brought before a court in 2015, the Federal Government had amended the treasonable felony<\/a> charges against him seven times.<\/p>\n

\u201cFG is not ready to hear this case; they are not even ready to try Nnamdi Kanu. What they want to do is they are applying all methods known to them to keep Nnamdi Kanu in perpetual detention. That\u2019s what they are doing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have done many cases; when a counsel is deposed for accelerated hearing of the matter, you will know.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow can you tell me that a charge has been amended seven times since 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last one they amended made it seven times they amended their charge, either reducing or increasing, and the court will keep on striking some of them out,\u201d Ejiofor said on Thursday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
