{"id":200927,"date":"2022-07-03T13:57:37","date_gmt":"2022-07-03T12:57:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=200927"},"modified":"2022-07-03T14:02:53","modified_gmt":"2022-07-03T13:02:53","slug":"former-brt-driver-excretes-90-pellets-of-cocaine-at-lagos-airport-ndlea-intercepts-n4-5b-heroin-in-baby-food","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/07\/03\/former-brt-driver-excretes-90-pellets-of-cocaine-at-lagos-airport-ndlea-intercepts-n4-5b-heroin-in-baby-food\/","title":{"rendered":"Former BRT driver excretes 90 pellets of cocaine, N4.5b heroin in baby food intercepted at Lagos airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A former driver with a public transport company, BRT, Muyiwa Babalola Bolujoko, has been arrested for ingesting 90 pellets of cocaine at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was arrested on Monday 27th June, at the screening point before boarding a Qatar Airways flight enroute Doha to Sharjah, with his trip expected to terminate in Dubai, UAE.<\/p>\n<p>Director, Media &amp; Advocacy of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, July 3, said the 39-year-old from Ijebu South LGA, Ogun State, was placed under excretion observation after body scan result confirmed drug ingestion.<\/p>\n<p>While in custody, the suspect excreted all the 90 pellets in four <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/22\/man-excretes-68-wraps-of-heroin-at-lagos-airport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">excretions<\/a>. He claimed he left his N60, 000 per month job as BRT driver in February and decided to work as drug courier to raise funds to buy a shuttle bus popularly called Korope in Lagos to continue his transport business.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-200931 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/07\/kunlenet07\/2022\/07\/03\/Muyiwa-Babalola-Bolujoko-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/07\/kunlenet07\/2022\/07\/03\/Muyiwa-Babalola-Bolujoko-2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/07\/kunlenet07\/2022\/07\/03\/Muyiwa-Babalola-Bolujoko-2-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/07\/kunlenet07\/2022\/07\/03\/Muyiwa-Babalola-Bolujoko-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/07\/kunlenet07\/2022\/07\/03\/Muyiwa-Babalola-Bolujoko-2-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/06\/ndlea-arrests-physically-challenged-drug-dealer-in-imo-nine-traffickers-at-lagos-abuja-airports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NDLEA<\/a> also intercepted 22 blocks of heroin weighing 23.55kilograms concealed in packs of Nestle Cerelac baby food at same airport.<\/p>\n<p>The consignment with a street value of over N4.5billion came from Johannesburg, South Africa on board South African Airways flight on Wednesday 29th June as part of a consolidated cargo that arrived the SAHCO import shed of the Lagos airport.<\/p>\n<p>After series of follow up operations that led to the arrest of two freight agents, the actual receiver of the drug consignment, Chike Okeke Eweni who distributes the substance for his South Africa based partner was arrested the following day, Thursday 30th June at a logistics warehouse in Ajao Estate, Ikeja.
