{"id":201424,"date":"2022-07-06T04:14:52","date_gmt":"2022-07-06T03:14:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=201424"},"modified":"2022-07-06T04:14:52","modified_gmt":"2022-07-06T03:14:52","slug":"housekeeper-bags-life-imprisonment-for-defiling-employers-daughters-in-lagos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/07\/06\/housekeeper-bags-life-imprisonment-for-defiling-employers-daughters-in-lagos\/","title":{"rendered":"Housekeeper bags life imprisonment for defiling employer\u2019s daughters in Lagos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A housekeeper, Bright Izuchukwu, has been sentenced to two terms of life imprisonment for defiling his employer\u2019s daughters aged six and seven in the Festac area of Lagos State.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Offences Court, Ikeja, sentenced the convict after finding him guilty on two counts bordering on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/07\/police-nab-father-over-alleged-defilement-of-four-daughters-in-lagos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defilement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While delivering judgment, the judge said the prosecution established the ingredients of the offence against the defendant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe evidence of the defence is self-serving, manifestly unreliable and untruthful, while that of the survivors was consistent, cogent and convincing as they properly identified the defendant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe defendant exhibited raw wickedness, taking turn to ravish the survivors and taking advantage of his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/29\/lagos-security-guard-arrested-for-impregnating-employers-teenage-daughter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">employer\u2019s<\/a> kindness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has left a trace of emotional trauma on the survivors. He must be locked away for life. The defendant exhibited arrogance and nonchalance throughout the trial and lied his way through the trial showing that he is a pathological liar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe defendant is hereby found guilty as charged and consequently sentenced to two terms of life Imprisonment which are to run concurrently,\u201d Soladoye held.<\/p>\n<p>The judge ordered that the convict should have his name entered into the register of sexual offenders in Lagos State.<\/p>\n<p>During trial, the prosecution called six witnesses and tendered two exhibits against the convict.<\/p>\n<p>The state prosecution team, Mrs Olufunke Adegoke and Ms Abimbola Abolade, said the convict committed the offence between 2017 and 2018 in FESTAC Town, Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecution stated that the defendant unlawfully had sexual intercourse with the two survivors while their parents were not at home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A housekeeper, Bright Izuchukwu, has been sentenced to two terms of life imprisonment for defiling his employer\u2019s daughters aged six and seven in the Festac area of Lagos State.
