Afolabi of the Federal High Court sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was arraigned on a one count bordering on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/07\/01\/interpol-arrest-alleged-nigerian-cybercrime-kingpin-in-south-africa-for-12m-romance-scam-bec-fraud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cybercrime<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/28\/yahoo-boys-landlords-may-spend-15-years-in-jail-efcc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EFCC<\/a>, disclosed this in a statement on its official Facebook page on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-201454 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/07\/kunlenet07\/2022\/07\/06\/Adamu-Yahaya-Jiyaba-.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"804\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/07\/kunlenet07\/2022\/07\/06\/Adamu-Yahaya-Jiyaba-.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/07\/kunlenet07\/2022\/07\/06\/Adamu-Yahaya-Jiyaba--150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/07\/kunlenet07\/2022\/07\/06\/Adamu-Yahaya-Jiyaba--768x772.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/07\/kunlenet07\/2022\/07\/06\/Adamu-Yahaya-Jiyaba--75x75.jpg 75w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The charge read, \u201cThat you, Adamu Yayaha Jiyaba, sometime in 2022 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court attempted to commit an offence to input a data that you are Robert S. Muller, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/04\/07\/fbi-arrests-two-men-for-posing-as-federal-officers-to-bribe-secret-service-agents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FBI<\/a> Director, with the intention that such inauthentic data will be considered or acted upon and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 13 of the Cybercrime (Provision, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015 and punishable under the same Section of the Act.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jibaya pleaded not guilty to the charge.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Afolabi adjourned the matter till October 26 and 27 2022 for commencement of trial, while Jiyaba was remanded in the Lafia Correctional Centre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A fake Director of the American Federal Bureau of Investigation, Adamu Yahaya Jiyaba, has been before Justice N.I.
