A court sitting in Lagos has remanded a bus driver for stripping himself naked and smearing officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority with faeces to prevent the seizure of his vehicle.<\/p>\n

This was made known by the LASTMA<\/a> spokesperson, Olumide Filade.<\/p>\n

According to Filade,\u00a0the suspect was arrested on July 4 and arraigned before a magistrate\u2019s court.<\/p>\n

He noted that the driver was remanded till August 2022.<\/p>\n

Filani stated this in reaction to a video of the driver which went viral on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

In the video which has gone viral, it was observed that\u00a0the driver, who spoke in Yoruba, demanded his offence as he threatened to deal with the men.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cWhat I will do to you, you will see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Afterwards, he removed his clothes and briefs, exposing his private parts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He subsequently squatted to excrete on his hand, which he put on the face of one of the officials.<\/p>\n

Later, he dragged down and hit one of the officials who took over the driver\u2019s seat.<\/p>\n

The video generated mixed reactions from social media users.<\/p>\n

The General Manager of LASTMA, Bolaji Oreagba, stated that the incident happened in March 2022 in the Maryland area of the state.<\/p>\n

The LASTMA\u2019s spokesperson, Filade, said the vehicle was impounded on July 4, 2022.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe driver has been arraigned at a magistrate\u2019s court, where he was asked to be remanded at the Potoki Custodial Centre until August when his case would come up again.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis only goes to show that the law will not spare any violator, however unruly you are. All LASTMA is advocating is voluntary compliance,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
