{"id":202324,"date":"2022-07-09T11:30:17","date_gmt":"2022-07-09T10:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=202324"},"modified":"2022-07-09T11:30:17","modified_gmt":"2022-07-09T10:30:17","slug":"kwara-spends-n4bn-on-salaries-pensions-monthly-abdulrazaq","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/07\/09\/kwara-spends-n4bn-on-salaries-pensions-monthly-abdulrazaq\/","title":{"rendered":"Kwara spends N4bn on salaries, pensions monthly \u2013 AbdulRazaq"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has said that his administration has spent over N4 billion monthly on payment of salaries and pensions of workers and retirees.<\/p>\n<p>AbdulRazaq disclosed this in Ilorin, the state capital, Thursday\u2019s night while speaking at a dinner organised in honour of the newly appointed honorary title holders by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.<\/p>\n<p>Represented by his Special Adviser on Strategy, Alhaji Saadu Salahu, the governor said the policies and programmes of his administration, including prompt payment of workers\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/05\/27\/migrate-salaries-of-all-lecturers-to-utas-coeasu-tells-fg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">salaries<\/a>, establishment of an Information Communication Technology (ICT) hub and the launching of the new Ilorin Urban Masterplan were all geared towards ensuring prosperity for the people of the state.<\/p>\n<p>He called on the people of Ilorin Emirate to take advantage of the new Ilorin Urban Masterplan to invest in their home town in order to reduce the problem of unemployment and as well stimulate the economic growth of the city and the entire state.<\/p>\n<p>AbdulRazaq explained that the new Ilorin Urban Masterplan was aimed at attracting local and foreign investors into the state over the next 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI charge sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate visiting during Sallah to take maximum advantage of the new Ilorin Urban Masterplan to invest in their home town as part of efforts to empower our people and stimulate the state\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n<p>On the ICT hub project, the governor said the project is being undertaken \u201cto mainstreaming our youths into digital economy where billions of dollars worth of business are conducted online in seconds. \u201c<\/p>\n<p>This is our vision in the ongoing construction of the ICT hub, the conference centre, export processing zone, etc\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed delight that his administration\u2019s robust partnership with IEDPU and similar unions has brought about peaceful coexistence amongst the people of the state and has earned the state being described as the most peaceful and secured state in the country .<\/p>\n<p>He congratulated the Emir, the IEDPU leadership and the award recipients and assured them of his avowed commitment \u201cto supporting the union in our collective vision for rapid socio-economic development, peace and tranquility of the state .<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the IEDPU President, Alhaji Aliyu Otta- Uthman, had thanked the governor for his uncommon support for the union, attributing the union\u2019s successes to the consistent overwhelming support it received from the governor.<\/p>\n<p>Otta-Uthman charged the honorary title holders in Ilorin Emirate to serve as agents of peace and unity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe plead with you to work towards ensuring that the unity of purpose we inherited from the founding fathers of Ilorin Emirate is maintained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou should work to ensure that the tendencies for disunity among our people are completely wiped off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis call for peace is necessary now more than ever as we are going into another round of general elections next year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also plead with those of you who are contesting for one position or the other to conduct yourselves as statesmen who always think of the next generation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPolitics can be conducted peacefully. We must show the rest of the nation that we are positively different.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The IEDPU president solicited the title holders\u2019 support toward the completion of the union\u2019s Skills Acquisition Hub project which he said has gulped over N50 million.<\/p>\n<p>In his lecture, the guest lecturer, Dr. AbdulSobur Alaaya, emphasised the need for unity amongst the people of Ilorin Emirate and hailed the purposeful and exemplary leadership style of Governor AbdulRazaq.<\/p>\n<p>The new honorary title holders that were honoured at the ceremony include Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq (Mutawali), Mal Salihu Mustapha (Turaki), Alh Saka Onimago (Shettima), Alh Yakubu Gobir(Madawaki), Sheikh Sulaiman Onikijipa (Mufti), Sheikh Imam Yakub Aliagan (Seriki Malami) and Engr.
