{"id":204602,"date":"2022-07-19T20:04:07","date_gmt":"2022-07-19T19:04:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=204602"},"modified":"2022-07-19T20:04:07","modified_gmt":"2022-07-19T19:04:07","slug":"fuel-tanker-explodes-in-lagos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/07\/19\/fuel-tanker-explodes-in-lagos\/","title":{"rendered":"Fuel tanker explodes in Lagos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fuel tanker has exploded on Tuesday evening at Mile 2, Otto Wharf area of Lagos State.<\/p>\n<p>The incident was said to have caused panic in the area as officials and residents were seen trying to put the inferno under control.<\/p>\n<p>The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, said the agency activated its response plan to distress calls at the above location.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon arrival at the scene by the agency response team, a fire outbreak from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/03\/27\/breaking-fuel-tanker-explodes-near-first-bank-building-at-mowe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fuel tanker<\/a> and drums was encountered.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-204603 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/07\/kunlenet07\/2022\/07\/19\/Tanker-explosion.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/07\/kunlenet07\/2022\/07\/19\/Tanker-explosion.jpeg 540w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/07\/kunlenet07\/2022\/07\/19\/Tanker-explosion-169x300.jpeg 169w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The agency added that emergency responders \u201care currently battling the inferno to contain it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOperation is still ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>LASEMA Spokesperson, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, in a statement said, \u201cMembers of the public are to refrain from nearing any naked flame while motorists are to avoid the area&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A fuel tanker has exploded on Tuesday evening at Mile 2, Otto Wharf area of Lagos State.
