An incident that could have thrown the nation into mourning was forestalled on Tuesday as one of Dana Air planes had an emergency landing after its engine developed fault<\/p>\n
The aircraft Boeing 737 aircraft with registration mark 5N DNA was enroute Abuja. <\/p>\n
The company, however, said the aircraft had been grounded for immediate attention by engineers.<\/p>\n
The airline\u2019s spokesperson, Kingsley Ezenwa, said the incident was due to an indication on one of its engines.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll the 100 passengers disembarked safely, and the aircraft has been grounded for immediate attention by our team of engineers,\u201d Mr Ezenwa said.<\/p>\n
He noted that the pilot-in-command briefed the passengers on the incident and landed the aircraft safely at the Abuja International airport at about 2:52 p.m.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) have (sic) also been briefed on the incident,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
