We realised that the driver on the wheels had dozed off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe tried to call his attention by shouting at the top of our voices to wake him up, but it was too late as the trailer climbed a big stone by the roadside.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe driver apparently woke up in the process and while trying to escape, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/13\/two-killed-as-trailer-rams-into-bus-in-abuja\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trailer<\/a> tumbled on him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Lagos State Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Olusegun Ogungbemide, confirmed the incident.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThe incident, which involved an ash-coloured Howo truck with number plate, T8678LA, caused the death of the driver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe incident happened at 7.24am, but was reported at 7:28am; my team arrived at the scene at 7.32am.
