Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Governor Nyesom Wike to honor the promise he made to Nigerians during the Peoples Democratic Party\u00a0presidential primaries in Abuja to support whoever emerges.<\/p>\n

This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Port Harcourt by the APC chieftain.<\/p>\n

Eze recalled that Wike had promised to support anyone who eventually emerges candidate of the PDP for the 2023 elections.<\/p>\n

According to him, Governor Wike had said so without duress to show his loyalty and commitment to the umbrella party to win the 2023 presidential election.<\/p>\n

He, against the backdrop of Wike\u2019s recent threat to expose some recent happenings in the PDP, after the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar\u2019s interview on a national television.<\/p>\n

Eze, an ally to the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi<\/a>, said such threat does not hold water and only presented the Governor and his cohorts as mere busybodies, saying nothing under the sun was apparently new about the PDP and Atiku Abubakar.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cIs he (Wike) going to tell us that he never wasted Rivers State funds in the wild goose chase of the PDP Presidential ticket in which he was thoroughly defeated?<\/p>\n

\u201cOr is he going to tell us that he never mobilised to be appointed as the Vice Presidential Candidate of the PDP? Or is Wike going to tell us that he never vowed to support whoever emerged as the PDP presidential flagbearer?<\/p>\n

\u201cIn case he has forgotten, he should listen to the video containing his speech where he thundered and vowed that he would support, \u2018to the fullest\u2019, anybody who emerges PDP<\/a> flagbearer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have counseled Wike to pipe down and accept his fate as his past deeds and unwarranted and unguided utterances were the major factors that worked against him in not clinching the PDP presidential ticket or becoming the vice presidential candidate to the PDP presidential flagbearer.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
