{"id":209010,"date":"2022-08-09T08:59:03","date_gmt":"2022-08-09T07:59:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=209010"},"modified":"2022-08-09T08:59:03","modified_gmt":"2022-08-09T07:59:03","slug":"frsc-impounds-35-unregistered-motorcycles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/08\/09\/frsc-impounds-35-unregistered-motorcycles\/","title":{"rendered":"FRSC impounds 35 unregistered motorcycles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Sokoto Command has impounded 35 unregistered motorcycles.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kabiru Nadabo who is the sector commander,\u00a0the arrest was in line with the directive by the federal government that unregistered motorcycles should not be allowed to ply roads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is part of the measures aimed at tackling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/08\/09\/ortom-writes-buhari-on-firearm-permits-for-newly-established-security-outfit\/\">security<\/a> challenges in our country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pre-ads-el\" data-add-marked=\"true\">\u201cSo it is not for revenue making alone but to curtail attacks on our communities as motorcycles are commonly used for such attacks,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p data-add-marked=\"true\">He noted that the enforcement would be extended to areas prone to bandits\u2019 attack.<\/p>\n<p>The commander noted that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/07\/21\/updated-fg-considers-mining-suspension-ban-on-motorcycles\/\">motorcycles<\/a> would be released to the owners once they complete the registration.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the command had liaised with the internal revenue board to ensure registration processes were made easy for the owners.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Sokoto Command has impounded 35 unregistered motorcycles.
