{"id":210360,"date":"2022-08-15T18:24:24","date_gmt":"2022-08-15T17:24:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=210360"},"modified":"2022-08-15T19:04:46","modified_gmt":"2022-08-15T18:04:46","slug":"armed-robbery-case-police-reward-dpo-who-rejected-200000-bribe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/08\/15\/armed-robbery-case-police-reward-dpo-who-rejected-200000-bribe\/","title":{"rendered":"Armed robbery case: Police reward DPO who rejected $200,000 bribe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The police hierarchy has rewarded Divisional Police Officer, SP Daniel Itse Amah, for displaying uncommon uprightness in the face of tempting financial inducement.<\/p>\n<p>Amah was said to have rejected the sum of Two Hundred Thousand United States Dollars (USD 200,000) offered to him as a bribe in a case of alleged armed robbery.<\/p>\n<p>For his action, the Inspector General of Police IGP, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/08\/15\/prioritise-schools-hospitals-security-to-prevent-attacks-igp-tells-police-officers\/\">Usman Alkali Baba <\/a>has presented a certificate of Award to him.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter containing the commendation, SP Daniel was hailed for exhibiting sound professionalism leading to the arrest of Ali Zaki, a Kano-based legal practitioner and some Police officers.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s gathered that investigations by Operatives led by SP Daniel led to the arrest of the suspected armed robbery syndicate in Kano.<\/p>\n<p>Consequently, the case was transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja on the directive of IGP for discreet investigation.<\/p>\n<p>When contacted, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest and said, \u201cThe lawyer and other suspects involved in the case have a case to answer and we are still on with the matter.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The police hierarchy has rewarded Divisional Police Officer, SP Daniel Itse Amah, for displaying uncommon uprightness in the face of tempting financial inducement.
