Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, Governor of Anambra State, has dismissed recent reports of the discovery of a large gold deposit in the state.<\/p>\n

According to a recent report, a gold reserve worth over $900 trillion and estimated to be over 20 million tonnes was discovered in Ehamufu, Anambra State.<\/p>\n

But reacting to the claim, the governor, in a press release signed on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Christian Aburime, described the news as fake.<\/p>\n

The story had beyond stating that gold was discovered at Ehamufu also added that Soludo, who was described as the chairman of South East Governor\u2019s Forum, briefed journalists on the discovery<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Setting the record straight, Soludo said: \u201cFirst, Ehamufu is not in Anambra State.<\/p>\n

\u201cGovernor Chukwuma Charles Soludo is not the Chairman of South East Governors\u2019 forum, neither did he brief newsmen of any meeting held by the Forum or phantom discovery of Gold reserves in Ehamufu, Anambra State, as allegedly claimed by the writer(s).\u201d<\/p>\n

He described the entire news story, including every statement<\/a> attributed to Soludo, as falsehood, while calling on the public to disregard the information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
