The Redeemed Christian Church of God has reacted to viral video of Senator Remi Tinubu wherein she threatened Igbos in Lagos for not doing the bidding of the people who control the state politics.<\/p>\n

In the viral video, she said Igbos are ungrateful for not aligning with politics of the state.<\/p>\n

Mixed reactions have trailed a video showing the Senator representing Lagos Central at the National Assembly threatening the Igbo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to the wife of the former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the Igbo residing in the state \u201cwere proving difficult despite the love shown to them\u201d.<\/p>\n

She said, \u201cWe will entreat all the deities of Lagos to chase Igbo people out. Igbo who didn\u2019t marry Yoruba, we will inherit them. Given how much we love Igbo, you now want to spoil everything.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are not the only tribe in this place, Hausa are here, we accommodate them, Calabar are here, we accommodate them. But Igbo are proving difficult. We will inherit you.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite the love we have for you\u2026 others are here and we accommodated them.\u201d<\/p>\n

While reacting, Twitter users were divided over the tone and meaning of her comment.<\/p>\n

One Twitter user, @BadmusAdeyemi12, said, \u201cShe was just joking in the video. She didn\u2019t mean what she was saying. That could be seen in her gesture.\u201d<\/p>\n

On his part, @4eyedmonk said, \u201c\u2026How can you say Remi Tinubu hates Igbo when in the same video she said, \u2018Pelu ba she nife yin to,\u2019 meaning, \u2018considering how much we love you \u201cIgbo?’\u201d<\/p>\n

However, some tweeps couldn\u2019t believe that a pastor of the RCCG could be uttering such words, especially in public.<\/p>\n

@Nwafresh said, \u201cFor the fact that Remi Tinubu is an ordained pastor in RCCG and still maintains her position after different hateful videos against the Igbo makes me understand why the Bible said that judgment will start from the house of God. Remi is an Antichrist.\u201d<\/p>\n

@drpenking said, \u201cSometimes I wish RCCG were like Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses. You can\u2019t consistently bring the image of the church into disrepute. They\u2019ll disfellowship you no matter who you are and they\u2019ll shun you like a leper. Remi Tinubu has dealt with RCCG\u2018s image so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

@mavisikpeme said, \u201cSo Remi Tinubu is really a pastor in RCCG? Those vile and hateful words cannot come from a servant of God. Must be a clone.\u201d<\/p>\n

@Oluomoofderby said, \u201cHow on earth is Remi Tinubu a pastor in RCCG? I honestly don\u2019t get it. In saner climes, she would have resigned from the senate and kicked out of her political party.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reacting to the video, RCCG faulted the social media comments questioning its ordination of Remi Tinubu as a pastor.<\/p>\n

The RCCG Head of Media and Public Relations, Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi, said the church was not aware of the video.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not aware(of the video) and I\u2019m sure Remi Tinubu was not speaking as a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God,\u201d Olubiyi said.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the comments questioning Tinubu\u2019s ordination, he said, \u201cI\u2019m not in a position to answer that because the church knows what it considers before ordination and social media does not dictate to the church what the church should do.
