The president Muhammadu Buhari led federal government has said the country has now heard the last of incessant jailbreaks that have rocked the country in recent time. <\/p>\n

Under Buhari\u2019s watch, Africa\u2019s most populous nation has witnessed a barrage of shocking prison breaks resulting in the escape of hundreds of inmates, including hardened criminals like Boko Haram terrorists<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, speaking at world press conference held at the Radio House Abuja, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, vowed that there will \u201cnever\u201d be a jailbreak again. <\/p>\n

He asserted that \u201cnever again would jailbreak be repeated\u201d in Nigeria and warned criminal elements to keep off the prisons across the country or they would not live to tell the story of any dastard acts.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough a few of the custodial centres of recent have suffered a spate of unprovoked but cowardly attacks, thankfully, that is clearly behind us now. We have been able to strengthen the custodial facilities with very tough measures,\u201d said Mr Aregbesola. \u201cThey are now strong, well-fortified and impregnable. If anyone or a group dares to test our will now, they may not live to regret it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The minister also advised Nigerians not to obstruct the operations of the Federal Fire Service in responding to fire emergencies.<\/p>\n
