The police in Ogun State have arrested one Olusegun Oluwole for allegedly defiling his 17-year-old daughter (name withheld).<\/p>\n
The a 46-year-old suspect reportedly sneaked into his daughter\u2019s room and raped her while asleep.<\/p>\n
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Oyeyemi said the suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged at Ibara police station by the victim.<\/p>\n
Oyeyemi added that the victim was reportedly accompanied by some So-Safe-Corps men and reported that she was sleeping in one room apartment at Amolaso area of Abeokuta at about 11:30pm when his father raped her.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cThe victim said, having observed that others were fast asleep, the father suddenly grabbed her and forcefully had sex with her with a threat to kill her if she refused to allow him.<\/p>\n
\u201cUpon the report, the DPO Ibara division, CSP Bernard Egbondiya, quickly detailed his detectives to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn interrogation, the father of six, who confessed to the crime, pleaded for forgiveness, claiming not knowing what came over him when he committed the crime.\u201d<\/p>\n
The PPRO, however, said the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had ordered the transfer of the suspect to state Criminal investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution, while the victim was taken to general hospital for medical treatment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
