{"id":216354,"date":"2022-09-14T07:48:46","date_gmt":"2022-09-14T06:48:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=216354"},"modified":"2022-09-14T07:48:46","modified_gmt":"2022-09-14T06:48:46","slug":"zamfara-to-implement-n30000-minimum-wage-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/09\/14\/zamfara-to-implement-n30000-minimum-wage-soon\/","title":{"rendered":"Zamfara to implement N30000 minimum wage soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kabiru Gayari, the head of the civil service in Zamfara, announced that the state government would soon introduce a N30,000 minimum wage for workers.<\/p>\n<p>Gayari spoke on Tuesday in Gusau at the 4th Quadrennial Delegates Conference of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/24\/gov-matawalle-appoints-new-head-of-service\/\">Zamfara<\/a> Chapter.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of Service announced that the ongoing dispute between the government and labor unions over the national minimum wage would soon be resolved. He was represented by Alhaji Yusuf Bakura, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Civil Service.<\/p>\n<p>Gayari, therefore, appealed to the unions to remain calm as work on the minimum template had reached 70 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>In his part, chairperson of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Mr Sani Halliru, represented by the acting state Secretary, Mr Abubakar Gusau, called on workers to support the unions in their effort to ensure that welfare of workers became priority of the government.<\/p>\n<p>He sought for their support in ensuring the implementation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/08\/01\/minimum-wage-resident-doctors-issue-2-week-ultimatum-to-fg\/\">N30,000 minimum wage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gusau challenged the unions on the need to elect good leaders who will represent and protect their rights.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Sa\u2019idu Mudi Chairman; Bashir Maradun, Vice Chairman I; Mustapha Gusau, Vice Chairman II, Salisu Giwa, Treasurer and Mubarak Marafa internal Auditor were returned unopposed.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Mr Sabiu Abdullahi, Shafa Labbo, Rukayya Abdullahi, and Iliya Muhammad emerged as Ex-Officio of the ASCSN.<\/p>\n<p>The newly elected chairman of the union in an acceptance speech appealed to the state government to look into workers\u2019 demands.<\/p>\n<p>He particularly appealed to the government to look into the plight of workers.<\/p>\n<p>Mudi, however, assured to collaborate with other labour unions to fight for the workers\u2019 rights.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kabiru Gayari, the head of the civil service in Zamfara, announced that the state government would soon introduce a N30,000 minimum wage for workers.
