{"id":217580,"date":"2022-09-20T20:39:58","date_gmt":"2022-09-20T19:39:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=217580"},"modified":"2022-09-20T20:39:58","modified_gmt":"2022-09-20T19:39:58","slug":"makinde-approves-reconstruction-dualisation-of-ibadan-iwo-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/09\/20\/makinde-approves-reconstruction-dualisation-of-ibadan-iwo-road\/","title":{"rendered":"Makinde approves reconstruction, dualisation of Ibadan-Iwo road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the sum of N12.5 billion Naira for the reconstruction, rehabilitation and dualisation of Ibadan-Iwo road.<\/p>\n<p>The 35.6km road spread across Iwo road Interchange-Olodo-Lalupon in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital to Odo Oba road in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/09\/17\/number-of-people-i-killed-uncountable-osun-suspect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Osun State<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The state Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport, Professor Dahud Kehinde Sangodoyin, made this revelation on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Sangodoyin spoke shortly after the state executive council meeting presided over by Makinde.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the contract covers the Oyo State end of the Oyo-Osun boundary linking Ibadan in Oyo State to Iwo in Osun State.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the contract is expected to be completed within 18 months.<\/p>\n<p>Sangodoyin noted that the two state governments of Oyo and Osun will flag off the project very soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, we held the 9th of the Oyo State Executive Council meeting and at the meeting, we approved the reconstruction, rehabilitation and dualisation of the 35.6km road that links the Iwo road interchange to Olodo Bank to Lalupon to Odo-Oba Bridge, which is a boundary between Oyo State and Osun states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe road project is subdivided into three parts. The first is the 7.7km from Iwo Road interchange to Olodo Bridge. \u201cAlso, we will extend the bridge to about 24 metres wide and 12 metres long.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the second tranche, we also want to dualise the 500 metres from the bridge to Ogunmarako Junction and thereafter, we will do a 27.33km from Ogunmarako to Odo-Oba Bridge at the other end of Oyo and Osun boundary.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the sum of N12.5 billion Naira for the reconstruction, rehabilitation and dualisation of Ibadan-Iwo road.
