A man identified as Professor Adekunle Oloki has asked a\u00a0District Customary Court, Erin-Osun, Osun State to stop her former wife, Kafayat Oyetunji, from naming their daughter after her new husband, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olamilekan Oyetunji.<\/p>\n

Oloki also accused the king’s wife, Kafayat of\u00a0changing his daughter\u2019s name, Nadirah Lawal-Oloki to Nadirah Oyetunji.<\/p>\n

It was learnt that the king’s wife, Kafayat had given birth to\u00a0Nadirah for Oloki before both of them parted ways.<\/p>\n

The plaintiff through a motion filed by his counsel, Asafa Olaore claimed that\u00a0the defendant took their daughter to live with her in her matrimonial home, at Ataoja of Osogbo\u2019s palace, without the consent of the plaintiff<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe defendant has changed the name of the plaintiff\u2019s daughter from Nadirah Lawal-Oloki to Nadirah Oyetunji.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe plaintiff has more than sufficient wherewithal necessary in taking proper care and nurturing of his daughter to any standard.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe plaintiff, if granted custody of his child by this Honourable Court, is quite ready to continue taking full responsibility for the total needs, education<\/a> and well-being of the child.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe plaintiff\u2019s daughter is a United States citizen and the plaintiff has commenced efforts and moves to make and enable the child fully acquire her citizenship,\u201d Olaore stated.<\/p>\n

Olaore urged the court to direct the defendant to allow the plaintiff to have access to his daughter.<\/p>\n

But respondent\u2019s counsel, S. B. Ajibade, said the plaintiff was never denied access to his daughter, saying, \u201che (Oloki) has run away since 2015 and abandoned his responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president of the customary court, K. B. Adeyinka, thereby adjourned the matter till December 14 for hearing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
