A former governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha has been caught on a leaked audio tape saying there won\u2019t be peace in the state till his successor, Hope Uzodinma, leaves the Government House.<\/p>\n

Recall that the Supreme Court had on January 14, 2020 declared Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the valid winner of the March 9, 2019 governorship election in the state.<\/p>\n

According to SaharaReporters, Ihedioha in the leaked audio<\/a> was heard vowing to make the state ungovernable for his successor.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey can leave the government house now, what I’m telling them is that they should leave the government house for peace to reign in the society cause they won\u2019t succeed in doing anything so long that I\u2019m here,\u201d Ihedioha<\/a> was heard saying in a phone conversation with an indigene of the state.<\/p>\n

A check by SaharaReporters on the number using true caller confirmed it belonged to the former House of Representatives Deputy Speaker.<\/p>\n

Uzodinma<\/a> had in the past blamed the killings recorded in the state on aggrieved politicians, adding that the sponsors of the violence were persons who were unhappy with his achievements after one year in office.<\/p>\n

\u201cI pray that God will touch the hearts of these people who are sponsoring the killing of innocent ones, burning houses and destroying public property in the name of politics.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have crosschecked since the inception of this mindless blood-letting in Orlu, Orsu and other communities in the zone, not one Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, a person has died, their houses burnt or attacked.<\/p>\n
