Gunmen on Thursday evening stormed the Palace of Obadu of Ilemeso Ekiti in Ekiti State, Oba David Oyewumi, and whisked the monarch away to an unknown destination.<\/p>\n

Ilemeso is one of the communities in Oye local government area of the State with a record of kidnappings<\/a> lately.<\/p>\n

The gunmen, numbering about six, it was gathered, had scaled the fence of the the Oba\u2019s palace and shot sporadically to scare away the other occupants.<\/p>\n

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relation Officer, Ekiti State Police Command, Mr Sunday Abutu, said \u201cit happened yesterday in his palace\u201d.<\/p>\n

Abutu said further that necessary steps have been taken to rescue the Monarch and apprehend the culprits.<\/p>\n

As at the time of filing this report, no update yet from the kidnappers.<\/p>\n

The latest abduction came barely a week after the Elewu of Ewu, in Ilemeje Local Government of Ekiti State, Oba Adetutu Ajayi escaped kidnapper\u2019s ambush.<\/p>\n
