The All Progressives Congress, APC, Lagos chapter has reacted to the endorsement of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, for second term.<\/p>\n

WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that Sanwo-Olu\u2019s Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, announced Wike’s endorsement of the Lagos State governor for second term<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The Lagos APC described Wike’s endorsement as a pain in the neck for Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state.<\/p>\n

The Publicity Secretary of Lagos APC, Seye Oladejo, made the remark on Tuesday, in a statement reacting to earlier statement by PDP, claiming that its Governorship candidate, Dr. Olajide Adediran, popularly called Jandor will defeat incumbent Governor Sanwo-Olu in 2023 poll.<\/p>\n

The statement reads in part: \u201cWe read with great amusement the painful reaction of the day-dreaming Lagos State PDP governorship candidate Jide Adediran aka Jandor, to the endorsement of the incumbent governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu<\/a> by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State during the opening ceremony of the annual COWLSO conference in Lagos.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s unfortunate that Jandor and his co-travelers did not see the humor in his purported victory in picking the gubernatorial ticket of PDP.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe hand-writing was clear on the wall about the worthlessness of the ticket from the point of view of precedence of many years and realistic political permutations.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was apparently convenient to cede the party\u2019s ticket to a nomadic aspirant and a willing guinea pig who was blinded by his ambition.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not surprised by your uncomplimentary remarks about Governor Wike who has undoubtedly made his mark in the annals of Nigerian politics and governance.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour position is consistent with your trademark aggression borne out of frustration and desperation.<\/p>\n

\u201cLagosisans have painstakingly observed in Jandor\u2019s short misadventure in politics, his commitment to the breakdown of law and order, divisiveness, misinformation and trade in lies and deceit.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we acknowledge Jandor\u2019s severe pain to be rejected by his people, he should still manage to keep his head as we count down to his omnious devastating defeat during the forthcoming coming election.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe commend Governor Wike\u2019s unusual politics of acknowledging the landmark achievements of a colleague in another party and endorsing him for another term. Posterity will certainly be kind to him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe good people of Lagos State definitely prefer Governor Sanwo-Olu to build on his achievements in the second term rather than experiment with a neophyte. Lagos does not need a breath of foul air.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
