{"id":224507,"date":"2022-10-26T10:49:14","date_gmt":"2022-10-26T09:49:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=224507"},"modified":"2022-10-26T10:49:14","modified_gmt":"2022-10-26T09:49:14","slug":"youre-major-shareholder-in-my-ice-cream-company-osinbajo-teases-shettima","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/10\/26\/youre-major-shareholder-in-my-ice-cream-company-osinbajo-teases-shettima\/","title":{"rendered":"You\u2019re major shareholder in my Ice Cream company \u2014 Osinbajo teases Shettima"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has stylishly thrown his own shot at Kashim Shettima on the \u201cIce Cream seller\u201d comment.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Osinbajo, on Tuesday, during Governor Umar Guanduje\u2019s book launch, said Mr Shettima is the major shareholder and Chairman of the Yemi Osinbajo Ice Cream company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDistinguished Senator Kashim Shettima, who is also the majority shareholder and Chairman of Yemi Osinbajo Ice Cream company,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In the build-up to the presidential primary, Mr Shettima had during an interview described the vice president as a nice man, adding that nice men do not make good leaders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOsinbajo is a good man. He is a nice man. But nice men don\u2019t make a good leader. Nice men should be selling popcorn and ice cream,\u201d he said at the time.<\/p>\n<p>He equally poked fun at another aspirant, Senate President Ahmad Lawan with his \u201ctomato seller comment\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGo to Ohiafia and ask of Ahmad Lawan, the first thing that will come to their mind is that of a tomato dealer from Maiduguri. Go to any other part of the south, does the name sell?,\u201d Mr Shettima had said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Shettima later tendered an unreserved apology to the duo, noting that his comments were to \u201cunderline the promise Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s presidential bid held for those yet to establish the certainty of the hurdle ahead of the APC.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Osinbajo and several others were later defeated at the APC primary election by Mr Tinubu, who polled 1,271 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Since the convention, Mr Osinbajo has somewhat distanced himself from the Tinubu\/Shettima campaign. His name is not in the Presidential Campaign Council of the APC.<\/p>\n<p>The ruling party, however, said Mr Osinbajo was excluded at the request of President Muhammadu Buhari, to enable him focus on governance.<\/p>\n<p>The vice president was a political ally of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/10\/26\/2023-presidency-tinubu-blasts-obaseki-for-saying-nigeria-will-break-up-if-apc-wins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tinubu<\/a>.
