A new electioneering arm, Independent Campaign Council, has been constituted for the All Progressives Congress’ Tinubu-Shettima’s<\/a> presidential ticket. <\/p>\n

The ICC was created to support the Presidential Campaign Council, with a special focus on grassroots campaign and door-to-door mobilisation of electorates.<\/p>\n

The new council which has separate directorates will be led by Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola; senator representing Nasarawa North senatorial district, Senator Tanko Al-Makura and former Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbe. <\/p>\n

The development was contained in a statement issued in Abuja by the Director Media and Publicity Committee of ICC, Ntufam Hilliard Eta.<\/p>\n

Eta said the independent campaign council would also focus on voters\u2019 sensitisation and outreach meetings amongst others.<\/p>\n

The statement partly read, \u201cA Special purpose vehicle, the Tinubu-Shettima Grassroots Campaign Council has been unveiled in Abuja.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ICC has His Excellency, Silas Agara former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State as National Coordinator. It would compliment the newly inaugurated Presidential Campaign Council and it focus shall be the grassroots.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eta, a former Acting National Chairman of the APC, also headed a directorate in the council while former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Silas Agara, is the National Coordinator of the Council<\/p>\n

Continuing, Eta disclosed that the move was to leave no stone unturned in their bid to ensure that the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, becomes the new occupant of Aso Rock in 2023.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cThe ICC would also seek to expand the support base of the APC Presidential bearer, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu to the hinterlands of the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would also adopt door-to-door, hamlet-to-hamlet campaigns\/Visitations, voters sensitization, and outreach meetings amongst others.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmong the key Directorates in the ICC are: Contact and Mobilisation, headed by Babatunde Fashola SAN, Media and Publicity, headed by Ntufam Hilliard Eta; Reconciliation and Integration Committee, headed by Chief Audu Ogbe; Supports Groups and NGOs Committee, headed by Senator Tanko Al-Makura; Finance and Fundraising, headed Alhaji Kashim Iman.\u201d<\/p>\n

The development is coming barely seven days after the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), led governors, National Working Committee members and other leaders of party to Tinubu\u2019s Presidential Campaign Council at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja.<\/p>\n

The event also featured the formal unveiling of the candidate\u2019s 80-page \u2018Action Plan\u2019 for the transformation of the country. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
