We invited the owner of the chemist and some members of her husband\u2019s family, including the mother-in-law, before the autopsy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Yetunde, a graduate of linguistics who hails from Osun State, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/04\/15\/woman-commits-suicide-over-husbands-plan-to-marry-2nd-wife-in-kwara\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">died on her way to the Ilorin General Hospital after she showed signs of poisoning<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The incident caused serious problems between her relatives and that of her husband on allegations that she was poisoned by her mother-in-law over a disagreement on her religious status.<\/p>\n<p>The deceased\u2019s sister, Pelumi, had called for justice, adding that, \u201cI know my sister could not kill herself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although, the deceased was a Christian, it was learnt that she converted to Islam after her marriage which did not go down well with her family.<\/p>\n<p>An online post by one Oyeronke Oluwakemi who claimed to be her course mate suggested that she was poisoned by the mother-in-law over a disagreement on her religious status; being a Christian.<\/p>\n<p>However, residents during a visit to the husband\u2019s family house in Ilorin that she poisoned herself over a disagreement that her husband wanted to marry a second wife, he, being a Muslim, Daily Trust reports.<\/p>\n<p>Her husband\u2019s brother, Alhaji Lagbe Araoje, said, \u201cShe had a little quarrel with the husband outside the house and it was settled and she went inside. The husband even later gave her a phone that she requested.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome minutes later, the husband rushed out of the house crying for help that his wife was vomiting. On our way to the hospital, she was begging the husband for forgiveness that she had taken DDT powder, popularly known as Sniper.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The husband of Hajia Nimahtallahi who operates the chemist where she allegedly bought the Sniper from, Adio Tajudeen, told our correspondent that, \u201cIt was when the news of her death broke that we knew she was living in the neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople buy the powder for many reasons and we can\u2019t suspect it will be used for evil purposes.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Kwara State Police Command has said housewife and mother of two, Yetunde Folorunsho, who allegedly poisoned herself to stop her husband, Dare Araoje, from marrying another wife, died of poisoning from taking a popular insecticide, Sniper.
