{"id":226123,"date":"2022-11-01T23:08:47","date_gmt":"2022-11-01T22:08:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=226123"},"modified":"2022-11-01T23:08:47","modified_gmt":"2022-11-01T22:08:47","slug":"fraud-case-court-orders-arrest-of-nama-md-pwajok-months-after-appointment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/11\/01\/fraud-case-court-orders-arrest-of-nama-md-pwajok-months-after-appointment\/","title":{"rendered":"Fraud case: Court orders arrest of NAMA MD, \u200bPwajok months after appointment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mathew Pwajok, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Justice Babs Kuewumi of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, issued the decision.<\/p>\n<p>Pwajok, who was <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/01\/13\/mathew-pwajok-appointed-nigerian-airspace-agency-md\/\">appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari<\/a><\/strong> in January, is charged with contempt of court.<\/p>\n<p>In July 2022, the judge issued a subpoena against Pwajok, ordering him to release some documents.<\/p>\n<p>The files are needed in the ongoing trial of ex-NAMA MD, Ibrahim Abdulsalami and others for an alleged N2.8billion fraud.<\/p>\n<p>The Economic and Financial Crimes and Commission (EFCC) is prosecuting the case.<\/p>\n<p>Abdulsalam is facing trial alongside Nnamdi Udoh (at large), Adegorite Olumuyiwa, Segun Agbolade, Clara Aliche.<\/p>\n<p>Others are Joy Ayodele Adegorite, Randville Investment Limited and Multeng Travels and Tours Limited.<\/p>\n<p>The defendants allegedly conspired to induce <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/09\/12\/aviation-workers-shut-kano-airport-over-dispute-between-faan-nama\/\">NAMA<\/a> to deliver N2.8billion to Delosa Limited, Air Sea Delivery Limited and Sea Schedule Systems Limited.<\/p>\n<p>They claimed that the money represented the cost of clearing NAMA\u2019s consignments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mathew Pwajok, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).
