{"id":226171,"date":"2022-11-02T06:57:38","date_gmt":"2022-11-02T05:57:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=226171"},"modified":"2022-11-02T06:57:38","modified_gmt":"2022-11-02T05:57:38","slug":"fgs-investment-in-mining-producing-good-results-buhari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/11\/02\/fgs-investment-in-mining-producing-good-results-buhari\/","title":{"rendered":"FG\u2019s Investment In Mining Producing Good Results \u2014 Buhari"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari said the massive investment in, and prioritisation of the mining sec\u00adtor is yielding positive results. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Tuesday in Abuja at the opening ceremo\u00adny of the 2022 Nigeria Mining Week, Buhari said the government\u2018s econom\u00adic diversification efforts have started impacting positively on the economy.<\/p>\n<p>The president was represented by Vice President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/10\/31\/why-im-happy-osinbajo-didnt-emerge-apc-presidential-candidate-pdp-chieftain\/\">Yemi Osinbajo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to Buhari, the government has intentionally prioritised the country\u2019s miner\u00adal resources over the years, as a frontier for economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis led to the comprehen\u00adsive Roadmap for the Growth and Development of the Nige\u00adrian Mining Sector, and we have steadily followed the steps set out in the roadmap.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far, we can say without fear of contradiction that this administration has committed more resources to the develop\u00adment of the mining sector than any other government in the history of this country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the huge invest\u00adment in the mining sector had yielded positive results over time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud that the indi\u00adces of development in the sector are rapidly changing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPart of these is the in\u00adcreased revenue generation and of course the unprecedent\u00aded investment interest that the industry has attracted in the past few years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNigeria, for the first time, has a world-class gold mine in Segilola, Osun State, operated by Thor Exploration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlso, Eta Zuma Mining and Industries Limited, Mosra Ener\u00adji are mining and supplying the coal needs of Dangote and Bua Cement factories.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn steel industry, African Natural Resources and Mines Limited, owners of the Kagarko Integrated Steel Plant is about to produce liquid steel from its iron ore mine in Kaduna State,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The president said that sever\u00adal other investors were at differ\u00adent stages of development in various parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the sector had the capacity to boost the coun\u00adtry\u2019s export earnings and job creation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBesides, it will stimulate in\u00addustrial growth as a local source of raw materials and improve the quality of lives in rural com\u00admunities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari said the massive investment in, and prioritisation of the mining sec\u00adtor is yielding positive results.
