The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has ordered an investigation into the alleged assault on woman Police Inspector, Bamidele Olorunsogo, by her DCO, Ajayi Matthew, in Ode-Omu, area of the state.<\/p>\n
The IGP issued the order to the Commissioner of Police in Osun, Olaleye Faleye, after a video showing a hapless, dehumanized and tortured Bamidele went viral on social media.<\/p>\n
In the video, Bamidele accused Matthew, a senior colleague of hers at the Ode-Omu Police Divisional Headquarters in Osun State, of assault and blackmail.<\/p>\n
The policewoman alleged that Matthew had asked her out to be his girlfriend but she decline his advances because she was married. <\/p>\n
She noted that the disclosure of her marital status didn’t deter Matthew as he doubled down on blackmailing and assaulting her and threatened to kill her at some point. <\/p>\n
She said, \u201cWhat is my offence? He started beating me to the extent, he stripped me. Look at my chest, arms, everywhere, there are injuries. He\u2019s Ajayi Matthew. He asked me out, that I should befriend him. I said no, that I\u2019m a married woman.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe started blackmailing me, claiming that he\u2019s my lover, which is not true.\u201d<\/p>\n
Matthews has not commented on the allegation<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Wednesday, said the Force Headquarters will await a report of the investigation from the Osun State Command, and take necessary actions on the matter.<\/p>\n
