His attorney was Mike Ozekhome, SAN.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThis letter comes on the heels of an earlier letter written to you by our client, with a view to dispelling the cocktail of lies woven around our client with a view to presenting the correct facts and our client\u2019s clear position to you<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our client categorically states that the entire story amounts to a sheer smear campaign mounted against him by political opponents who are driven by malignant political vendetta and vicious desperation against our client\u2019s ambition to regain his seat as Governor of Zamfara State come 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur client has voluntarily offered himself to be thoroughly investigated for the purpose of unearthing these alleged humongous monies and denigrating the governor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He, however, demanded that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/11\/08\/2023-budget-efcc-chairman-seeks-more-funds-for-proposed-academy\/\">EFCC<\/a> investigate the claims by an online medium on the governor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bello Matawalle, the governor of Zamfara State, filed a case with the Economic and Financial Crimes after it was claimed that he had hidden billions of Naira at his home in Abuja.
