The Labour Party (LP) claims that Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, is being funded by unnamed persons in an effort to erode the support for the party in the South-east.<\/p>\n

The party counseled Soludo<\/a> to focus on leadership and refrain from making statements that could endanger himself and the state.<\/p>\n

Yunusa Tanko, the head of the Labour Party’s presidential campaign, responded to Soludo’s recent predictions that Mr. Peter Obi will lose the 2023 election.<\/p>\n

Obi might, at most, finish third in the election, according to Soludo. He gave samples of what to anticipate in the polls from the LP’s bad performance in the governorship elections in Osun and Ekiti.<\/p>\n

Soludo said he would not submit to the bullying of Obi\u2019s supporters, who recently descended on him for addressing issues in the state.<\/p>\n

The former CBN governor had also been under intense attack for close to a week for dismissing Obi\u2019s investment in the state as amounting to nothing, during a television interview.<\/p>\n

Reacting to these, Tanko said: \u201cWe want to believe that Soludo is being sponsored in order to attack our base in the South-east, because, in the first instance, we have no any correlation with Soludo. So, why has he decided to attack our principal?<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems to us that it\u2019s a grand plan to try to see that if they can weaken us from our base. But the truth is that they are making us even popular. The people are the ones even responding to the attacks. But we want to advise that it\u2019s very good that Soludo should look at the future and not the present, because he is just starting as a governor.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has not done anything yet. Not even a block has he put on ground and yet, he is putting the people of Anambra State in dilemma and in danger. He should be conscious enough to know the dangers he is putting himself and the people of Anambra into.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked to list those allegedly sponsoring Soludo, the Spokepersonsaid, \u201cHe could be sponsored from any angle. We cannot be specific but it\u2019s very clear because instead of facing governance, he is attacking Obi.\u201d<\/p>\n
