Governor David Umahi has said that Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, will look after Igbos and that the South-East will support the ruling party in the general elections of 2023.<\/p>\n

These guarantees were given by Mr. Umahi on Wednesday in Abuja during the opening of the Ebonyi Governor’s Lodge.<\/p>\n

The governor of Ebonyi urged Igbos to support Mr. Tinubu, a Yoruba from the South-West, in opposition to Igbo candidate Peter Obi from the Labour Party, claiming that his guarantees matched the sentiments of other governors in the South-East.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we welcome Asiwaju and the governors to Ebonyi state<\/a> for the mother of all rallies. Your excellency, you will see what an engineer can do when you come,\u201d stated Mr Umahi. \u201cWe are not hiding to say that you are our candidate, and you will take care of South-East people, and all our votes will go to APC. There is no mistake about that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ebonyi governor added, \u201cSo, the people of the South-East, we have spoken. I am the Chairman of the South-East Governors\u2019 Forum, so I speak on their behalf. We know where it would be better for us in 2023, and that is the APC<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Umahi also declared that a mother of all political rally would organise on behalf of Mr Tinubu as a show of support for his presidential ambition and an indication of the number of votes to be garnered in favour of the APC in the 2023 elections in Ebonyi.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would do a rally that has never been witnessed in the entire South-East in Ebonyi state,\u201d Mr Umahi explained. \u201cAny party that comes to Ebonyi and can gather the content of that population, we would allocate some votes to you because none of you can do that.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
