The probe into an attack on a correctional facility in the Kuje area council of the federal capital territory (FCT) has been concluded, Rauf Aregebesola, minister of interior, has said<\/p>\n

Aregbesola<\/a> made this known on Tuesday in Abuja at the fourth edition of the federal government\u2019s scorecard series, organised by the federal ministry of information and culture.<\/p>\n

Recall that in July, gunmen attacked the correctional facility, freeing hundreds of inmates, including Boko Haram suspects.<\/p>\n

Giving an update on the probe into the attack, the interior minister said the outcome of the investigation would not be made public because it is a \u201csecurity document\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is still a security document,\u201d NAN quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n

Aregbesola also said the President Muhammadu Buhari administration has made significant strides in the fight against insurgency.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2015, the insurgents were holding territories in some local government areas in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut as we speak, they have been dislodged. Yes, there are challenges here and there, but there is no nation without challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n

The minister also said the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has done much work to ensure that it contributes its quota in enhancing security across the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe service has also been involved in the protection of lives and property of Nigerians, especially along the major expressways across the country,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
