The redesigned naira notes have been made public by the federal government.<\/p>\n

President Muhammadu Buhari<\/a> presided over the Federal Executive Council meeting when it was unveiled.<\/p>\n

\"\"Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), issued a warning to Nigerians stating that the deadline of January 31, 2023 to entirely eliminate the usage of the old notes cannot be extended.<\/p>\n

The redesigned notes are in denomination of N1000, N500 and N200.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the release of the new naira denominations was originally scheduled for mid-December, but the CBN governor said Buhari had graciously accepted to unveil them today.<\/p>\n
