Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Nigeria’s interior minister, has urged citizens to double-check that the information on their applications for national passports matches the information on their National Identify Number, or NIN.<\/p>\n

The minister offered the guidance on Thursday in a tweet from his official Twitter account.<\/p>\n

Aregbesola also revealed that a large number of passport applicants<\/a> face significant difficulties with the order of their names.<\/p>\n

He wrote, \u201cIt is important also that your details with NIN sync with the data on your application. Any discrepancy will stall your application until it is corrected. The order of the appearance of the applicant\u2019s name especially has been an albatross for many.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that that his ministry had introduced tracking mechanism to help applicants monitor the progress of their application.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
