Exam misconduct will be eradicated, according to the National Examinations Council (NECO).<\/p>\n

Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi, the Registrar of NECO, declared that the organization would take action against examination fraud.<\/p>\n

On Monday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, he presented at a one-day workshop on examination malpractice.<\/a><\/p>\n

Wushishi asserted that addressing examination fraud would guarantee Nigeria’s overall development.<\/p>\n

The head of NECO urged relevant stakeholders to work together to address the problem of examination fraud.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the biggest challenges bedeviling the conduct of public examinations now is the issue of examination malpractice.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must therefore take collective responsibility to rid them of this bad habit of wanting to cut corners,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Wushishi lamented that examination malpractice could discourage hard work among serious students and lower educational standards.<\/p>\n

He harped on the need to re-orient the minds of the youths over the issue of examination malpractice because Nigeria can\u2019t develop with such menace.<\/p>\n

The NECO boss listed measures to tackle malpractice to include effective conduct of accreditation and re-accreditation exercise in schools, biometric data capturing of candidates to check impersonation of candidates registered for examination and to help identify miracle centres where examination malpractice are perpetrated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
