The Federal Government says all the demands made by the EndSARS protesters in October 2020 have been met. <\/p>\n
Minister for Police Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Maigari-Din\u00adgyadi, made this known on Tuesday in Abuja, at the Public Dissemi\u00adnation of the Post EndSARS\/ Research and Training of Police Oversight Agencies on Oversight Mechanisms.<\/p>\n
The event was organised by Cleen Foundation, with support from MacArthur Foundation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWithout prejudice to the findings contained in your EndSARS Research Findings, let me assure this gathering and Nigerians in general.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat the President Mu\u00adhammadu Buhari-led admin\u00adistration has fully implement\u00aded the demands presented by peaceful protesters in October 2020, which was unfortunately hijacked by unpatriotic ele\u00adments.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt would be recalled that the government expeditiously approved the disbanding of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, which was foremost among the demands of the protesters.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe five demands of the protesters, otherwise known as the \u201cfive for five\u201d demands, also included setting up of indepen\u00addent investigation, justice for victims of police infractions, and re-evaluation of disbanded SARS personnel.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd an upward review of police emolument has been fully implemented by the gov\u00adernment towards emplacing permanent solutions to trust deficit between the police and the citizenry\u201d, the minister said.<\/p>\n
Maigari-Dingyadi added that the Police Public Com\u00adplaints Committee was set up at the ministerial level to give citizens an additional layer of redress against acts of infrac\u00adtions by the police.<\/p>\n
He said the committee had representatives from the min\u00adistry, Police Service Commis\u00adsion, Nigeria Police, Nigerian Human Rights Commission and NGOs among others.<\/p>\n

He added that petitions could also be submitted via https:\/\/ppcc policeaffairs.gov. ng or directly to his office at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Abuja.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur germane desire to promote food security, health security, economic buoyancy and all forms of human secu\u00adrity, through community-based and technology-led policing, requires critical support of all stakeholders\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
