Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi State, has provided an explanation for why he has not yet joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign.<\/p>\n

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Gov. Bello, a presidential aspirant of the APC, participated in the party\u2019s primary election won by Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n

The governor has been evasive ever since Tinubu’s presidential campaign kicked off, despite being named the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s Youth Coordinator.<\/p>\n

Bello, however, claimed he was unable to join the campaign train because he had been engaged in some covert work for Tinubu.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, he paid a visit to Seyi Tinubu at his office in Lokoja, the administrative centre of Kogi State.<\/p>\n

Seyi had led the PCC National Youth Mobilisation Directorate to the Lord Lugard House in Lokoja, to mobilize supports for his father.<\/p>\n

In his words, the governor stressed that people may be thinking that he has been quite for some time now, saying, however, that but he is really working underground for the APC candidate.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am with Asiwaju (Tinubu). I am doing some underground work for the success of Asiwaju as President and for the APC, that is why I have not been following the campaign train<\/a> up and down. I may not be following Asiwaju up and down, but what I\u2019m doing is far above what the eye can see.<\/p>\n

\u201cCome 2023, we will record a landslide victory,\u201d he expressed confidence.<\/p>\n

Gov Bello described Seyi Tinubu as his my \u201cjunior brother\u201d, saying \u201cI am the first born of Asiwaju.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier, Seyi who is also in Kogi to distribute reach out to recent flood victims said Kogi is amongst the States identified by the group to visit and support.<\/p>\n

He appreciated Bello for accepting them, while also thanking the Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja, for joining them in Lagos to show his support during the walk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
